Arkedo Series 03 – Pixel, is a fantastic game. I highly recommend getting it from the Xbox Live Indie Game Store now. It harkens back to the GameBoy games of old, where pixel art reined supreme. Unfortunately, modern games have lost some of their character as graphics got more realistic. Thankfully, Arkedo has managed to keep that same look and feel, while still making their game look high-res. Rest assured, this game runs in HD and 16:9 to boot. The gameplay reminds me of Super Mario Land 2 on the GameBoy. It’s simple, yet addicting, and overall, fun. They’ve even added their own gameplay elements, such as the ability to inspect objects to enter a maze and open up opportunities. There is also a roar attack that recharges after jumping on enough enemies. If you love classic platformers, like Super Mario Bros., as much as I do, you’ll love the adventures of Pixel the Cat.

I love the Professor Layton series. It combines clever puzzles with a gripping story. Unfortunately, people outside of Japan have yet to play the third game and onward. The big problem is that the gameplay revolves around the player being able to read and understand the puzzles. This is very taxing on the Japanese translators. Until the moment when we can all enjoy Professor Layton and the Last Time Travel, this video will suffice, or will it?
This bird can sing the Chocobo Theme from the Final fantasy series. How awesome is that? the main reason that I am posting this is to prepare ya’ll for the forthcoming release of Final Fantasy XIII in March. It’s one of the many games that I am anxiously awaiting this year.
